Interview with photographer Maya Kapouski


About you:
My life is divided in two personalities. In one hand Lucía, the responsability part of me who is writing her PhD and is visual artist. On the other hand Maya, photographer and the experimenter part of me, always thinking about new projects, trips and crazy ideas.
I live and work in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. A beautifull place that I love.
I have two dogs, Ceibe and Verde, and a turtle.

What is it that attracts you the most of what you have around you? 
I'm in love with my day a day. I have the lucky of share my days with a lovely family, good friends and creative things in each part of my live.
Tell us about your experience as photographer what did it give you?
Photography gives me a way of life. Since I began to take pictures everything becomes to change. Nowadays is my job and the best way for me to share my personal universe.

How you found your first job as fashion photographer?
It success in a very natural way. I have been taking pictures some years ago for artist projects. At the end of my Fine Arts Degree I began studies in Fashion Design that I never finished. My colleges began to ask me if I can take the pictures of their projects and this was the way I made my first fashion shootings.

Three adjectives to describe yourself.
Pasionate, creative, lover

A song: El cordón de mi corpiño by Antoñita Moreno (It was the song that my grandma sang me when she looked after me)

Favorite web of photography
I follow about 20 photography websites and I don't know which one is my favorite. I love the photographers who appear in them!

What camera do you use? Dou you use one lense?
I use some different kind of cameras. My favorites are a Pentax Super ME, a Olympus XA and a Bronica. I have different lenses and I try to experiment and try all the cameras and complements as I can.

Tell about exhibition if you ‘ve had any.
I have made a lot of exibitions but the most part of them was not such as photographer, they was such as artist (sculpture, performance, installation, etc...) but since this year I have programmed some photography exhibitions to the future.

Do you sell prits? How do you make it and where can someone buy?
No, I don't sell prints nowadays. I have two different kinds of work, my personal work that I publish in my website and for exibitions and the “proffesional work” where I sell the shooting. So if someone wants a shooting or a collaboration they can send me an email to mayakapouski@gmail.com

What was your most big success?
The first time I fried an egg. I hate cooking and I'm afraid of boiling oil so it was a really big success.

Ed Templeton, Juergen Teller, Olaf van Dod and my Dad.

Describe some of your projects
In my work I try to question the values of the adult world and rejects the obligation to leave the teen age and I explore the limits between art and life and the application of one to the other.
I work in some differents areas such as sculpture, photography, installation or design. I love every kind of work and I try to make it the best as I can, no matter in which process.

Your main concept.
Enjoy and be passionate in everything you do.

What is your occupation, job, interest besides photographyNowadays I have the good luck of being working in photography. I'm making my first steps in professional fashion photography, editorials and collaborations with brands and magazines. Also I'm begining to write my PhD in contemporary art and looking for new collaborations.


Which advice would you give someone who wants to become a (professional) fashion photographer?
Don't be afraid of being wrong. Make what you love and what you think is right. Hear your heart and let's risk, and be wrong again and again, this is the best way of open new ways and to innovate.

Interview with Fulvio Gá

About you: I'm Fulvio Gá  and as u can see from this photos i love shooting photos. I love planning photoshoots and searching ideas for projects and photos. I'm so inspired by other photos, nature, songs, books, colors, perfumes, memories, faces... but above all i'm inspired by THE DIFFERENT things. 

What is it that attracts you the most of what you have around you?: I don't know very well, but i think as i said before, the things that attract me are more are the different things and the details. 

 Tell us about your experience as  photographer what did it give you?: I don't have a big experience in photography, but i think it gives me a lot now and it'll give me a lot in the future.

    What camera do you use? Dou you use one lense? : Now i'm using a sony a230 and i 've got two lenses: 18 - 55mm and 50mm f 1.8

Tell about exhibition if you ‘ve had any. I haven't had any exhibition yet. But i hope in the future i'll something like this.

What was your most big success? I think my first publication on a magazine 

Favourite photographer. : Absolutely Tim Walker

Describe some of your projects: well i've made so many project like: 365 days, 52 weeks. The last project i made is called: winter's tale and this photos are by this project. I thought to realize a long winter-like story and these are the results.

  Your main concept.: I don't even think to a main concept but i could write a quote that describes exactly what i think: Earth without ART is just EH.

What is your occupation, job, interest besides photography: I'm studying foreign languages at school, so i'm a student!  ahah

Your plans.: i'm planning new photoshoots and projects to realize in the early summer after school's end. Stay tuned

Interview with photographer Bhumika Bhatia

  
About you: This question always takes me for a spin.  Little I know about myself is that am a 23 year old girl who loves art, darkness, magic and flowers.



               What is it that attracts you the most of what you have around you?  Darkness and Colours! lots and lots of it. Though, am a huge black and white fan myself. But, sometimes seeing life in technicolor is beautiful.


               Tell us about your experience as a photographer and what did it give you? I live in a limbo. Those in-between moments are what i thrive for,  Apart from that, I  do try to photograph my dreams.

             What camera do you use? Do you use one lens? - I use a Canon 500D and a few other (5Dmark2/mark3) depending on the work. But for my personal work, i use my granddads film camera. and as for the lens- i use 50mm.



             Tell about exhibition if you've had any. 
Yes,Absolutely! I had my first group show when I was 19.That same year, I submitted my work for a competition in Paris and I was stood 8thworldwide; as a consolation prize, my photograph was exhibited at Paris Fashion Week. In October, two of my photographs were exhibited at Selfridges, London as a part of Jimmy Choo PEP project – in partnership with the Elton John Foundation. Last year, I had 2 exhibitions in New York.

Do you sell prints? How do you make it and where can someone buy? Yes, I do sell prints. If You're living in US- You can buy them from the gallery( Underline  Gallery in New York) am being represented by. Or you could just email me.

          What was your most big success? Grateful for what i've achieved so far. But the best is yet to come. :)

           Favourite photographer. Honestly,  It's hard to choose one. But, Tim Walker is one of my favourites. I love how he conceptualizes his shoots. Very dream-like and inspiring.

            Describe some of your projects.  Reunion. Love. Heartache and Mystery .

Your main concept. Emotions. Lots of it.

Interview with photographer Javier Bravo


About you:
My name is Javier Bravo from Burgos, Spain. I'm 24 and I'm finishing Architecture in Madrid
What is it that attracts you the most of what you have around you? 
Little things are usually the ones that i apreciate the most, the everyday-life
Tell us about your experience as photographer what did it give you?
As photographer i've had really good experiences. Find the perfect moment, keep it in your camera and then remember it, that's a great sensation.
Three adjectives to describe yourself.
Constant, passionate and possitive

Pedro Pegenaute. All his projects are awesome. The way he introduces the scale, colour treatment. Also his personal work not just architecture

All of them are relationed with architecture, it's what i like the most. Taking pictures of buildings for different studios
Your main concept.
Wait the perfect moment to make that picture unique. Also the way the people is relationed with the environment is envolved
What is your occupation, job, interest besides photography.
Nowadays i'm finishing the final project of Architecture

First of all, finishing my career as i get into some photography projects. Then who knows
